GOOD NEWS: Price Of Rice Officially Falls; Checkout The New Price
The price of imported rice fell in the month of April according to new date released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). According to the NBS, the price fell from N418.71 in March to N250.30 in April per kilogramme indicating a 7.22 per cent reduction.
The report however stated that the average price of 1kg of rice (imported high quality sold loose) increased year-on-year by 29.98 percent in the month under review.
According to the report, the price of 1 dozen of Agric. eggs medium size increased year-on-year by 41.04 percent.
“The average price of piece of Agric. eggs medium size (price of one) increased year-on-year by 28.74 percent and month-on-month by 5.21 per cent to N46.22 in April from N43.93 in March.”
“The average price of 1kg of tomato increased year-on-year by 15.32 percent and month-on-month by 6.36 per cent to N285.72 in April from N268.64 in March.”
Also, “the average price of 1kg of yam tuber increased year-on-year by 42.45 percent and decreased month-on- month by 2.17 per cent to N250.30 in April from N255.86 in March.”
The NBS explained that 700 staff supervised by experts was sent to all the states on a field work to get the prices.
Over 100 respondents and locations were analysed from all the local governments in the country to arrive at the data provided.
We went to the market to find out the price of commodities since President Muhammadu Buhari left the country for medical treatment.

An evil and heartless Ghanaian man has left many people terrified after he brutally butchered his fiancee with a knife for daring to break up with him.
Naami Sowah, a friend of the dead woman narrated that the man killed her after 'she told him they should break up.'
In a long Facebook page, Opanyin Khay Kutin who shared the graphic stories narrated the sad incident and wrote:
"Hmmmmm.....LADIES PLSS BECAREFUL ON WHO TO DATE.. HMMMMMM.

A young man has claimed to have been brutalized by men of the Nigeria Police Force Esige division in Benin city, Edo state -alongside with others after pleading with them (police officers) not to drag a young man chained to the back of their hilux along the road. Rather than reason with the men, the police officers officers allegedly descended on them….
The crime of the chained man was not disclosed …..The incident reportedly happened on Monday, May 15th .

See What Is Happening To Air Force Man 2 Months After He Killed His Soldier Lover
The aircraftman of the Nigerian Air Force, Ben Kalu, who has been in custody for over 2 months at the NAF Tactical Command, Makurdi over the murder of his girlfriend, Solape Oladipupo, at the NAF base in Makurdi, Benue State, will face a court-martial on Friday.
Kalu, who had on Sunday, March 12, shot dead Oladipupo, popularly called Shomzy, in her apartment at the base, on the grounds that she was unfaithful in their romantic affair, would begin the process of court-martial on Friday..
A top NAF source, who disclosed the court-martial on Tuesday, said the long delay in Kalu’s prosecution was because he was attached to the Logistics Command, Ikeja, Lagos State, but served in Makurdi.
He said;
“The suspect is still in NAF custody. Everything has been going step-by-step. He will be court-martialled on Friday and by next week, he will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution. nawa
He is only serving physically in Makurdi, but his command is in Lagos State. So, the correspondence has taken some time too.”
The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, confirmed the court-martial, adding that it would “take place shortly.”
He said;
“We have a procedure in the military and we don’t jump the process. There is a disciplinary committee which goes through investigations, boards of enquiry, summary of evidence and so on.
“The last stage is the convening of the court-martial. From all indications, we are at that stage now and it will take place between this week and next week. It will take place shortly. The NAF can never sweep the matter under the carpet, because the crime was an embarrassment to the service.”

The part-time business student’s body was found in a patch of veld in Bramley‚ Johannesburg‚ two days later by a passer-by who at first thought the body was a burnt mannequin.

Mantsoe, 27, faces charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice. Meanwhile, friends, neighbours and relatives gathered at the Mokoena family home in Soweto today. They are trying to to make sense of Karabo’s murder.
“We mothers feel the pain, the social workers came and I got a report that the family is still shocked and shattered in terms of what happened and how it happened.” said Gauteng Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khaza.
“Today is Mother’s Day, our children are celebrating their mothers, Karabo is no more to celebrate her mother.” she added.
A memorial service for Karabo will be held at the Diepkloof Hall on Wednesday and she will be laid to rest on Friday.

“The name of the girl behind the camera in the Chidinma Okeke se x video scandal is Jane Emoka and she is also a beauty queen.
“She was a diploma student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University at the relevant time. She was the one through which the principal figure sold the idea of making a se x video to Chidinma and her roommate, Ada.
“Jane was the one that used her phone camera to make the video. Jane is the owner of the hand that is seen in the video opening the girls’ legs.
“She also participated in the se x act. However, she was edited out of the video before it was uploaded on the internet. Why was she edited out? We know the answer to that. The original video was edited at the ABS media studio.

A Lagos medical practitioner, who identified himself only as Dr Itan, has accused policemen from the Area M command of stealing N45,000 from him.
The victim, who works with a private hospital in the Iyana Ipaja area of the state, said he was returning from an emergency around 1am, accompanied by his wife, when he was stopped by a police team.
He said his explanations on where he was coming from was rebuffed by the men, who demanded N100,000 from him failing which he would be charged with robbery.
Itan said after being detained for about three hours, the policemen led his wife to the nearest Automated Teller Machine, where she was forced to withdraw N45,000 for them.
The doctor said four other motorists, who were also stopped, were forced to part with various sums of money.
He said,
“I live in Ikeja, while the hospital where I work is at Iyana Ipaja. I was at home on April 9 when a nurse called me that we had a patient that had problem passing urine. The man was in pain and I recommended some drugs.
“But the nurse called back that the situation was getting critical and I decided to drive down. I got to the hospital with my wife; and by some minutes past 1am, we were done.
“I was driving back when I sighted a road block by a police team at Moshalashi Roundabout, Iyana Ipaja. I saw different Rapid Response Squad vehicles at the junction. They asked me to park and I did.
“They asked why I was wandering at that time of the night and I told them that I was a medical doctor and I had an emergency which I had to respond to. I showed them my identity card and complimentary cards. The policemen checked my vehicle documents and driving licence, which were complete.
“But one of the policemen said anybody could be a doctor during the day and a robber at night. I told them that if they had issues with where I was coming from, they could follow me back to the hospital. But they refused.”
Itan said four other vehicles were stopped on the road, adding that the policemen said they got a tip-off on a robbery operation in the area and they were all suspects.
He noted that before they were driven to the Area Command, the policemen asked him to pay N100,000.
“They said as a doctor I didn’t need to get myself embarrassed and that I could just settle them and leave. Since I didn’t have any money, I did not pay anything.
“They took us to the Area M Police Command on Idimu Road. But instead of driving into the station, they asked us all to park our vehicles at a car wash beside the command.
“I asked them to take me to the Area Commander, adding that I was ready to be investigated. But they only demanded my car key and kept silent,” he added.
The victim said some of the other motorists started paying some money to the policemen and were released.
He said later, a Deputy Superintendent of Police approached him and after he identified himself as a medical doctor, the DSP asked the policemen to search his vehicle.
Nothing incriminating was said to have been found in the car.
“He then held my pouch, which contained my driving licence, passport, hospital ID card and the ID card of another hospital where I was formerly working.
“He asked what I was doing with two ID cards of different hospitals, and I explained to him. I also told him it was not a crime if I had ID cards of two hospitals if I was working in one and consulting for the other. He became angry.
“When it was getting to about 4am and I didn’t bulge, one of them came to me and said I was not supposed to follow them to the area command in the first place and that since they had brought me there, they might have to charge me with robbery. I told him there was nothing I could do because I didn’t have any money on me.
“At that point, they volunteered to follow my wife to the Automated Teller Machine to withdraw some money. I told them I didn’t have N100,000. But the policeman said I cannot give them small money because all of them, including the DSP, will share it.
“Later, they decided to collect N45,000. They drove my wife to the ATM where she made the withdrawal before we were eventually released,” Itan added.
Itan said the policemen advised him to always move in an ambulance whenever there was an emergency or in the alternative he should tell his hospital to write the area command.
While expressing sadness over the incident, he said he reported his ordeal to the management of his hospital, but was advised to let go.
“The hospital said it was what they did every time and I was surprised because I was new in the place. They said since they were in that environment and they always had to respond to emergencies from time to time, they didn’t want to be victimised.
“But I want those policemen punished for the act. The police authorities should go after them; they are always at that junction, robbing innocent motorists,” he added.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, urged the doctor to approach the command for redress, saying the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, would not condone such act.

According to NAN a girl who was identified as Khadija is suing her father for delaying and stopping a man who was willing to marry her,.
She said, “The man I want to marry has made several attempts to meet my father to discuss the wedding plan, but he always avoided him.
“The only reason he gave me was that the man I want to marry is not Fulani, which is not satisfactory to me.”
She pleaded with the court to order her father to allow her to get married to the suitor, whose name she gave as Abdulhamidu.
The respondent, Bassa, told the court that the allegations of his daughter were true.
He said, “I have always avoided Abdulhamidu because I am against his choice as a suitor.
“I have warned my daughter that marriage is not a child’s play. How can she get married to a man whose root and origin are not known to us?”

War As Mortuary Man Storms Cemetery, Seizes Corpse And This Happened. (Photo)

There was serious pandemonium at the Tema Community 9 Cemetery when a popular mortuary man with the Tema General Hospital stormed the burial ground to seize a dead body over an amount of GH ¢40 balance relations were supposed to pay him for services he rendered.
According to some eyewitnesses, the incensed mortuary man in the company of a colleague, while the body was being interred, seized the coffin, open it, picked out the dressed corpse and started heading back to the mortuary.
It was gathered that his reason was that the family of the deceased failed to pay for the full amount and while he was busily preparing other bodies for burial, they sneaked the corpse and headed straight to the cemetery to bury and proceed to perform the funeral.
His conduct shocked mourners who had gathered at the graveside to pay their last respect to the deceased.
In the ensuing melee, family elders in the company of some friends managed to save the situation which paved the way for the deceased to be buried.
