Pedro Olajide, a Lagos Pastor, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates Court presided over by the Chief Magistrate, Y. O. Aje-Afunwa, for crushing a yet-to-be-identified girl to death.
According to The Eagle, the incident in which the pastor crushed the girl, whose age was put at about 18, to death occurred on Sunday as he headed to church.

At his arraignment, the pastor, who was backed by over 20 of his church members who showed up in court, was granted bail.

The girl was said to be crossing the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway at Dopemu Under Bridge area instead of making use of the pedestrian bridge, when the pastor ran into her with his car at about 8am.
As soon as the incident happened, Olajide went to report himself at Shasha Police Division.
This was after the girl was confirmed dead at the hospital.
His defense counsel, Adeyinka Akiola, pleaded with the court for bail for Olajide, which was granted in liberal terms.
Aje-Afunwa granted the defendant bail in the sum of N400,000, with two sureties in like sum.
